The following agreement is between ________________, referred to as “Breeder” and ____________________, referred to as “Buyer” for the sale and purchase of one purebred Miniature Longhaired Dachshund.

The Breeder guarantees that the puppy is in good health at the time of sale and is free of hereditary defects to the best of her knowledge. Buyer should have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of purchase. If the examination detects a problem, the Breeder agrees to replace the puppy with one of equal value or refund the purchase price to the Buyer. This warranty becomes null and void after 72 hours. The Buyer then assumes full responsibility for the health, temperament, training and appearance of the above puppy upon possession. Under no circumstances is the Breeder to be held responsible for the above puppy/dog or its behavior after being purchased by the Buyer.

The Buyer shall maintain the puppy in good condition, including adherence to a regular immunization schedule.

Should the puppy/dog become ill or unsound, any and all costs of treatment will be the responsibility of the Buyer.

Buyer agrees that this puppy will keep “WHEETEENYDACHS” as part of its registered name.

In the event the Buyer is unable to keep the puppy/dog or provide an appropriate home in accordance with this agreement, the Buyer shall notify the Breeder and give her first option to take the puppy/dog back.

The Buyer shall not sell the puppy/dog (or its offspring) to any individual or establishment such as a puppy mill or a pet shop. At no time shall this WHEETEENYDACHS puppy/dog be surrendered to an animal shelter or the Humane Society.

[Note: For a Limited Registration, the following will be added.]

This puppy/dog is being sold with a Limited Registration which means it is unable to compete in AKC All Breed Conformation Shows. It can be entered in other AKC events. It should not be used for breeding as puppies will not be able to be registered with AKC. Usually a buyer intends for this puppy/dog to be a pet, and it is recommended by AKC that the puppy/dog be spayed or neutered. I have read and agree to this contract.
